Broadcast across the ITV network at 8pm on Monday nights, the series gained a reputation for unorthodox and campaigning journalism. At its height, it drew audiences in Britain of up to 23 million.  The standard format was as a voice-over documentary without a regular reporter, although a handful of WIA journalists did appear in front of camera. Perhaps its most celebrated guest presenter was the distinguished American anchorman Walter Cronkite, who came out of retirement to cover the 1983 British General Election for the series.}, year = {1963} } @misc{ author = {Blake, Brian}, title = {Kevin at the Crossroads}, publisher = {ITV}, month = {22 June 1981}, note = {The second in a series of observational programmes following Kevin Donellon: in 1972, 1981, 1987 and 1995}, abstract = {A Thalidomide survivor World in Action has been following since he was 10 in 1972}, keywords = {thalidomide}, year = {1981} } @misc{ author = {Blake, John}, title = {The Steel Papers}, publisher = {ITV}, month = {4 February 1980}, note = {World In Action acquired sensitive documents.
